Why Hearing Support for Pensioners Matters
The Hearing Services Program is essential in supporting older Australians by ensuring that hearing solutions are both affordable and accessible. Together, we can foster a more inclusive environment for everyone.

HOW IT WORKS
What Does the Program Cover?
The Government-Funded Hearing Aids program for pensioners covers a range of services designed to improve hearing. This includes access to high-quality hearing aids, comprehensive hearing assessments, and support to ensure optimal usage. Eligible pensioners can benefit from financial assistance to alleviate the costs associated with acquiring and maintaining these essential devices. This program aims to enhance the quality of life and communication for seniors experiencing hearing loss.

Fully Subsidised Hearing Aids
If a hearing assessment shows you would benefit from hearing aids, you may receive a device at no cost. These government-funded aids include essential features for everyday listening.

Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs)
ALDs are available for individuals who may not require hearing aids. These include devices that amplify sound from televisions, telephones, and one-on-one conversations.

Annual Maintenance Support
Maintenance services for fully subsidised hearing aids—including batteries and repairs—are covered annually under the program. Partially subsidised devices may incur a small annual fee for these services.
